Mummy's Wish is passionate about providing young Australian families with immediate, practical and non means tested support while Mum is receiving treatment for cancer.

Jennifer Hetherington (Chair)

Jennifer engaged with Mummy’s Wish when her Mum survived Lymphoma.  Even though Jennifer was a mother herself when her Mum was diagnosed, she saw the myriad of physical and emotional impacts cancer had on the fabric of the family.  As mentioned Jennifer is a dedicated Mum, Chair of the Mummy’s Wish board as well as a partner at a Brisbane Law firm.  She spends her precious spare time with family, being active and healthy to promote a long and happy life.

Trevor Cuss

Trevor has witnessed the toll cancer has on the lives of women, having witnessed both his mother and sister successfully overcoming breast cancer.  Trevor’s career boasts senior executive roles in investment banking, professional services and consulting industries in Australia and abroad. He holds two Bachelor’s degrees, a variety of post-graduate qualifications, is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and of the Financial and Securities Institute of Australia.  Trevor loves chasing a ball around (tennis, golf or squash) and has been known to worship at the altar of a good malt.

 

 

 

Helen Turner

Helen is an experienced teacher with a front line understanding of the value of families.  She has been an active volunteer with Mummy’s Wish since it’s inception and joined the board to share her knowledge in 2011.  Helen’s comprehensive understanding of how cancer effects the entire family unit is so valuable at board level.

 

Kerryn Fewster

Kerryn spends her days coaching high performance individuals to drive and manage success within high performance organisations.  She has experienced the profound impact that cancer has on the lives of those touched by it through sharing the cancer battle with her mother and a few close friends. Her business acumen, knowledge of the cancer journey and personal experience as a busy mum make her the perfect fit to serve on the Mummy’s Wish board.  You know the old saying - if you want something done, just ask a busy mum who just happens to be a high performance coaching professional!

Saxon Rice BEcon M. IntLaw GAICD

Saxon Rice is an experienced senior executive having held senior business development and management roles as well as senior positions in government over the last 16 years. She has broad experience across public, private and NFP sectors in international business development, education, skills and employment and social policy. Saxon understands the impact cancer has on young families and is committed to contributing to the strategic and sustainable growth of the organisation through her networks, governmental experience and passion for change. 

 

 

 

Annie Stonehouse BA (Psych); Grad Dip Edn

Annie Stonehouse is a powerhouse of energy who has 22 years experience as a child psychologist and teacher and has also run a multi site food production & retail business and building company. Annie has long been a enthusiastic fundraiser for a variety of charities during their rapid expansion including Chicks In Pink and Hands Across the Water. Mummy's Wish appealed to Annie's love of charity work with practical impact and meaning. She has held positions on the Board of the National Baking Industry Association is currently also on the Board of the Rotary Club of Carindale.

 

Melissa Weier RN

As an ex Registered Nurse, Melissa has firsthand insight into the difficult journey that mothers with cancer take. With over 23 years corporate experience predominantly in leadership roles, Melissa brings a skill set that includes strategic focus, business acumen and drive to the board. She is passionate about Mummy’s Wish and the work we do to lessen the impact that cancer has on the family unit. A mother of two she loves cooking, reading and being active with her friends and family.
